Happy Christmas Eve!

Dear diary,

I love this time of year. The excitement of Christmas. I love being with family, and getting all excited for what tomorrow will bring. The excitement of spending the day with loved ones, watching crap on the tv in your pyjamas. I love the feeling of giving someone a present you know they will just love, watching their face as they open it. I love little family traditions, like how my brothers and I stay up late and clean the house on Christmas eve as a kind of present for Mum, or how we always have to eat breakfast together before opening any presents.

This time of year always makes me so thankful to have the family I do have. It's not about presents or food, it's about being thankful for the incredible family God has given me, the incredible life he's given me. I'm thankful for Jesus, and I'm thankful he came to save me.

Ginger Ninja

Dear diary,

I would just like to let you know that I dyed the ends of my hair ginger. I love it. It looks like fire. That is all.

Square Eyes!

Dear diary,

This weekend has been so quiet! Everyone has left for Christmas, and because I was volunteering at church I stayed for a few extra days before going home. I'm now in a massive house all by myself. I basically didn't see or speak to another human from 2pm on Saturday, to 2pm on Sunday when I left the house to go to church! I spent the time watching chick flicks.

'How many chick flicks' did you say? I'll tell you! 4. Yep. I watched 4, as well as Gavin and Stacey which I watched in the morning. Let no one say I don't love a good chick flick.

Oh and at the moment I am watching Bride Wars. Before this was How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. A fun evening filled with Kate Hudson, myself, tea, chocolate, face mask and blankets.

I think I have a chick flick problem.

So glad to be going home for Christmas tomorrow! I'm going to go mad otherwise!

One Year.

Dear Jon,

The last 12 months have been amazing. Thank you for always being there to talk to. Thank you for never judging me. Thank you for always supporting me. Thank you for arguing with me. Thank you for letting me rant at you. Thank you for always showing me how you love me.

Thank you for the laughter.

All my love,

Lavinia xx

The Cutest 8 Year Old There Ever Was

Dear diary,

Today I realised how much I miss this little one. Living away from family is always tough. I was on the phone to him, and asked him who he thought it was ringing him. He said, "ummm, dunno!" I replied, "It's your absolute favourite sister in the whole wide world" Then he said, "I only know one person who that could be, but she lives really far away, like in another dimension!!"

He is just the cutest 8 year old, and I never want him to grow up!
